Career Pathways Manager
(Impactful Policy Careers Accelerator)
Location: Remote
Open to candidates residing in Europe. Preference for Belgium/Brussels.
Hours: Full-time (40 hours) as Contractor, with offer for EoR (Employer of Record) at 12 months
Salary: UK: $64,000 | Europe: $54,000
Reports to: IPC Program Director
Application deadline: 15th November
Compensation depends on location and employment type (contractor or employee).
About the role
As IPC grows, we are seeking a Career Pathways Manager to help our participants and alumni secure and progress in impactful policy roles in global health and development, animal welfare, and food policy.
The Career Pathways Manager will be instrumental in turning an intensive week in Brussels into lasting policy careers. You will run placement support, build the relationships that show us where real openings and barriers lie, and bring global health and development expertise to our One Health program.
The Career Pathways Manager is not a recruiter chasing placements or a coach for everyone. The role is to put the right people in front of the right opportunities, and to give IPC an honest picture of where its alumni go and what difference we made.
Key Responsibilities
• Run continued placement support: assess candidate fit, match people to openings, support applications and interviews, and make useful introductions.
• Build relationships with hiring managers and relevant units, to understand demand and barriers.
• Investigate additional pathways within a scope agreed with the program leads, drawing on country-specific expertise where needed.
• Contribute Global health and development expertise and speaker recommendations to the September 2027 One Health cohort.
• Provide career advising for selected senior and non-Blue Book candidates within an agreed capacity. Coordinate with the leads on support for alumni progressing or becoming more effective in existing roles.
• Maintain the vetted alumni and civil-servant network, protecting confidentiality and professional standing. Keep progression data current with Monitoring & Evaluation Manager, including role relevance and IPC's contribution.
About Impactful Policy Careers
Impactful Policy Careers is a new programme, incubated through Animal Advocacy Careers, designed to accelerate change in Global Health, Animal Welfare, and Food System Transformation by helping mission-aligned professionals move into critical policy and decision-making roles in Europe.
We ran our pilot in Brussels in March 2025. Within nine months, over 50% of aspiring EU Policy Professionals successfully pivoted into potentially very high-impact policy traineeships, internships, or full-time roles. In 2026, we ran two cohorts: animal welfare and food systems in March, and our first global health and development cohort in the autumn.
The programme brings together talented early- and mid-career professionals for an intensive one-week in-person experience that includes expert-led learning, practical skills, and community building, along with ongoing community support and pre- & post-cohort online curriculum.
Impactful Policy Careers is fiscally sponsored by Animal Advocacy Careers, which will be the contracting party for this role.
